Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting has ended today on 96 seats in 10 states and union territories. In the fourth phase, more than 62 percent voting took place on 96 seats. According to the Election Commission, the highest turnout in the fourth phase was in West Bengal at 76.02 percent, while the lowest turnout was in Jammu and Kashmir. 36.88 percent voting was recorded here.
According to the Election Commission, voting can continue after six o’clock at those polling booths where there were queues of people at the polling stations. However, the voting percentage may increase till the final figures are released.
What percentage of voting took place?
According to the information available on the Voter Turnout App, 62.94 percent voting has been recorded in 96 Lok Sabha seats of the country today. 76.02% in West Bengal, 68.12% in Andhra Pradesh, 68.86% in Madhya Pradesh, 63.85% in Odisha, 63.44% in Jharkhand, 61.54% in Telangana, 55.92% in Bihar, 57.97% in Uttar Pradesh, 52.93% in Maharashtra. And 36.88 percent voting took place in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sporadic incidents recorded in these states
According to Hindustan Times report, peaceful voting was recorded on most of the seats in the fourth phase. However, incidents of violence were reported at some places in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. Not only this, there were reports of EVM malfunction at some booths in West Bengal and Odisha too.
In Andhra Pradesh, TDP and YSRCP also accused each other of violence in some districts. During this time, a video of YSRCP MLA also surfaced, in which he was seen slapping a voter. Apart from this, BJP candidate Madhavi Lata lifted the burqa of Muslim women and saw their faces, due to which a case was also registered against her.

In the first three phases of Lok Sabha elections, 66.14%, 66.71% and 65.68 percent were recorded. Among the states where voting took place today, all 17 seats of Telangana, 25 seats of Andhra Pradesh, 13 of Uttar Pradesh, five of Bihar, four of Jharkhand, eight of Madhya Pradesh, 11 of Maharashtra, four of Odisha, four of West Bengal Voting has taken place on eight and one seat in Jammu and Kashmir.
