The girl’s body was found at her home in a town in England’s ‘West Midlands’ region earlier this year. Jaskirat Kaur alias Jasmine Kang was charged with the murder of She Kang on March 4. West Midlands Police had said that the girl was found injured at an address in Rowley Regis and was declared dead at the scene.

Kaur has said in a brief hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court via video from jail that she is guilty of murdering her daughter on the basis of diminished responsibility. According to court reports, Judge Chambers told Kaur, “Your case will probably be heard on October 25.” Defence barrister Catherine Goddard told the court that “there is no dispute over the facts” of the case and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that Kaur’s plea of ​​guilty to murder was acceptable to the prosecution.

Stabbed to the chest

The Shropshire Star reported that an inquest into Shay’s death found that she had died of a stab wound to the chest. Brickhouse Primary School, where Shay was a student, said it was deeply saddened by the tragic death. “Shay was a bright, happy, fun-loving child who was much loved and will be very sadly missed by all,” the statement said. Tributes were paid to her with toys, cards and balloons, and some parents of children who attended the same school set up an online Go Fund Me fundraiser to raise money for Shay’s funeral.
