London Farmers Protest: You must have seen a lot of pictures of farmers’ protests in India, but now farmers have come out on the streets in another country. Tractors suddenly started running on the shiny and beautiful roads of London on Wednesday. People were surprised to see hundreds of tractors. After some time it was finally known that this is not a tractor race but the troubled farmers who are protesting against including agricultural families in ‘inheritance tax’.
Farms will be destroyed
During the protest, farmers took out a tractor march on the streets of Central London, closed the roads and demanded from the government that farmer families should not be included in the inheritance tax. Farmers are demanding exemption from this tax. Farmers say that this will destroy family farms, food production will decrease.
Parliament House Road was blocked
With the aim of putting pressure on the government, farmers had also blocked the Parliament House road with tractors. Farmers were also seen standing with placards outside the Parliament. It was written on these placards, “No farmers, no food, no future.”
Farmers’ income has decreased
Farmers say that their income has decreased in the last few years. In October this year, the government said that tax will be levied on farmers’ land from the year 2026. After this, protests started in different parts of the country. There was a fierce protest in London in November, not only this, more than 13 thousand farmers gathered on the streets in Westminster.
