Lucknow: Hazratganj police has arrested Congress leader Paramjit Singh from Aligarh district, who is accused of vandalizing and creating ruckus in Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in Lucknow. Paramjit Singh was dodging the police by changing his disguise and hideouts for the last 28 years. A non-bailable warrant was also issued against Paramjit by the court. Police has arrested Paramjit and sent him to jail on the orders of the court.
In fact, Youth Congress workers had entered Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on 15 February 1991 and raised slogans. It is alleged that on that day 30 to 40 workers of Youth Congress came towards the Vidhan Sabha from the Capital Tiraha of Hazratganj raising slogans. It is alleged that Congress workers pushed down the policemen posted at Gate No. 3 of Vidhan Bhavan and entered inside.
9 accused were arrested
During this time some workers had reached inside by jumping over the boundary wall and had vandalized inside UP Vidhan Bhavan. When CRPF and policemen tried to stop them, they pushed them. After a ruckus broke out on the spot, when they tried to run away, the policemen caught 9 people.
A case was registered against these people in Hazratganj police station under sections of illegal gathering, attacking a public servant, criminal encroachment and causing damage to government property. The police arrested the accused Congress leader Pappu Ansari, Israel Ansari, Sanjay Singh, Mahesh Chandra, Om Prakash Saraswat, Virendra Sharma, Yogendra Singh, Madhukar Sharma and Aligarh resident Paramjit Singh from the spot and sent them to jail.
Did not surrender even after attachment
The court issued notice to all the accused during the hearing, but Paramjit Singh never appeared in the court. After this, an NBW was issued against Paramjit Singh in the year 1997. Despite this, the accused was not caught nor did he surrender in the court.
On this, the police got the house of accused Paramjit Singh attached. Despite this, he never appeared before the court or the police. The police raided and arrested Paramjeet Singh from Shyam Nagar area of Civil Lines police station area of Aligarh. At present, the police is engaged in further action.
