Police have detained 10 foreign women in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow. All the women are from Thailand. Passports and visas have been recovered from them. Lucknow’s Chinhat police had received a complaint about their suspicious activities. Police asked them the reason for staying here, to which they could not give the right answer. One of the detained women has confessed to staying in the apartment flat through her boyfriend. He had got her the flat on rent.
According to Lucknow Police, the detained foreign women are being questioned. They were living in Shakti Apartment in Chinhat police station area of Lucknow. 10 women from Thailand have been caught from 6 different flats. Among them, only one woman had a rent agreement, while the others did not have any agreement. Police also interrogated the apartment owner Shakti Singh. He also did not have any details.
Police team raided
The police had received information that some foreign women live in Shakti Apartment in Malhaur, their activities are suspicious. On this, a team was formed and the apartment was raided. A foreign woman was found in a flat. The police questioned her. She told that she was from Thailand. The police asked her the reason for staying in the flat, she told about her boyfriend Archit. The woman told that her boyfriend had got this flat on rent for her.
10 foreign women were in 6 flats
In the police raid, 10 women were recovered from 6 flats of the apartment. All the women are from Thailand. The police told that they had passports and visas. But, except for one woman, no one else had a rent agreement. When the information was sought from the apartment owner Shakti Singh, he also did not have any details. The police have registered a case against Shakti Singh, Archit and others in Chinhat police station under section 61, 318(4) of BNS, section 14 A, 7(1) of Foreigners Act 1946, section 5 of Foreigners Registration Act 1939.
