A bomb threat has been received at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. This threat has been given through email. The email mentions bombing of planes at Bhopal Airport as well as other airports in the country. Police have registered the case and started investigation. The airport authority informed the police about the matter. On the complaint of the authority, Gandhinagar police has registered an FIR in the matter. An FIR has been registered against unknown people under Section 507 and Aircraft Act.
Case registered in Gandhinagar police station
“A case has been registered under section 507 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and the Aircraft (Security) Rules on the complaint of Bhopal airport officials,” said Bhopal Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-IV) Sundar Singh Kanesh. Deputy Commissioner of Police said, “The case was registered at Gandhinagar police station. Efforts are on to nab those involved in sending the threatening e-mails.”
Nagpur airport also threatened
Sources said that after receiving the email, the planes were searched at the airport here, but nothing suspicious was found. Apart from this, after receiving the threat at Nagpur Airport in Maharashtra, a thorough investigation was conducted by the security personnel, but nothing suspicious was found. An airport official said that as a precautionary measure, security has been increased at the airport. He said that some other airports in the country have also received similar threatening emails.
