A woman committed suicide in Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She wrote a suicide note before dying, alleging that her in-laws were planning to force her husband to remarry. This incident occurred in Tirupati ML Highlight Society, located on the Ayodhya Nagar bypass. A 35-year-old woman, Kiran Meena, hanged herself on Wednesday evening.
It is alleged that her husband and in-laws were harassing her because they hadn’t had a child after 14 years of marriage. A few days earlier, her husband had sent her a divorce notice. Before taking this extreme step, the woman also wrote a suicide note, accusing her mother-in-law, husband, brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, a female friend of her husband, and a cousin of harassing her. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
Kiran had moved into her parents’ home.
Kiran Meena was married to Ayurvedic doctor Sanjeev Deshwali. Her in-laws harassed her because they hadn’t had a child after 14 years of marriage. Kiran Meena’s family alleges that Sanjay was also friends with two women. Sanjay ran away from home without informing them in April 2025, and a police complaint was filed. Tired of the frequent fights, Kiran began living at her parents’ home. Occasionally, she would visit her in-laws. On Wednesday evening, she arrived at their home on the Ayodhya bypass to meet her husband. At 6:00 p.m., Kiran’s brother called her but received no response. Worried, he arrived at his sister’s in-laws’ house to find Kiran hanging from a noose in the bedroom.
‘Husband’s family tortures me’
In the suicide note recovered from Kiran’s room, she wrote, “I want to write very much, but my husband and in-laws have left only a suicide note. My husband Sanjay Deshwali, his brother Durga Prasad, my mother Kallo Bai, my sisters Mathura, Lata, Mamta, his girlfriend, and my cousin are responsible for my death. My husband’s family tortures me because I don’t have children. They are hell-bent on getting him married again. My in-laws want to divorce me.”
‘I can’t tolerate any more humiliation’
Kiran further wrote, “I can’t tolerate any more humiliation. That’s why I’m taking this step. Give all my belongings and the keys to this flat to my parents. After my death, my parents will have the right to everything I own. Love you, mom and dad. Take care of yourselves. I’ve been a very bad daughter, sorry. Please cremate me as your own daughter. Use my own money for the funeral.”
