The Crime Branch has arrested two MD smugglers in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The names of the accused arrested under the ongoing campaign against drugs are Saifuddin and Shahrukh, who used to supply MD (methamphetamine) powder in various clubs and parties in the city. The police have seized about 15 grams of MD drugs, a scooty and a mobile phone from the accused, whose estimated value is being told to be around Rs 3 lakh.
According to the information of the Crime Branch, a total of 40 grams of MD drugs have been seized from 5 different accused so far in the year 2025. The police is constantly monitoring the increasing prevalence of drug addiction among the youth and club culture.
Work was done like chain marketing
Investigation has revealed that the accused used to make the youth addicted to drugs in the name of fitness and party culture through parties, clubs and gyms. It is alleged that the girls were first exploited by giving them drugs for free, so that they could become the ‘center of attraction’ of club parties. At the same time, some doctors were making the youth addicted to drugs through wrong medicines in the name of treating depression. According to the police, the drug network is working like chain marketing. Initially, the youth are given drugs for free, then gradually the drugs are sold at a higher price. The youth forced to raise money for drugs then keep themselves in ‘survival’ by adding new people.
Saifuddin was absconding in another case
The Crime Branch is now also investigating the role of club operators, managers and organizers. If their involvement is found, then license cancellation and criminal cases will be registered against them. The arrested accused Saifuddin was also absconding in a case of Crime Branch in the past, on which a reward of five thousand rupees was announced. Now after his arrest, other smugglers and suppliers associated with him are being interrogated.
Action taken on informer’s information
The crime branch received information from an informer that two boys are sitting on a grey coloured scooty near Sabji Mandi tin shed in Govindpura police station Bhopal. The boy sitting on the front seat is wearing a white lined shirt and blue coloured lower, his age would be around 20-25 years. They have MD powder, they are waiting for a customer to give MD powder to him. They often keep supplying MD powder to customers. If they are not caught soon, they will sell the MD powder to someone and dispose it off or will give it away. If caught in time, a large quantity of MD powder can be recovered from them. On the information of the informer, the crime branch team reached the spot and arrested both the accused.
