Madhya Pradesh’s Culture and Tourism Minister Dharmendra Lodhi has clarified the controversy surrounding his Facebook Live video. Lodhi stated that his Facebook Live statement has been distorted by members of opposition parties. He clarified that excerpts from his video are being taken out of context and circulated on social media.

Clarification of Controversial Statement
Minister Lodhi stated that he was doing a Facebook Live on activities in his constituency. During the livestream, he had stated that it is difficult to quit alcohol unless a person is determined. However, opposition parties have misinterpreted a few seconds from his entire 45-minute live video.

Minister Speaks on the Government’s Prohibition Policy
Minister Lodhi stated that in BJP- and NDA-ruled states, the government has strictly enforced prohibition, causing problems for the Congress and its allies. He stated that the Congress never implemented prohibition during its rule, while his government is cracking down on the mafia. Lodhi stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, prohibition has been implemented at 15 religious sites in the state. He said, “I completely deny any misleading content of my statement.”
