Madhya Pradesh: Lokayukta police in Seoni district arrested Mukesh Kumar Namdev, in-charge principal of Jan Shiksha Kendra Bija Deori, while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000

A major action was taken against corruption in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh, where Jabalpur Lokayukta team arrested Mukesh Kumar Namdev, principal in charge of Jan Shiksha Kendra Bija Deori, red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. This action was taken at a shop named “Bewafa Chai Wala”, which is present at Bus Stand Bakhari, Tehsil Chhapara.

According to the information, complainant Dheelan Singh Bisen, Head Teacher, Government Secondary School Bija Deori had complained to Lokayukta Superintendent of Police, Jabalpur that Mukesh Kumar Namdev has put unethical pressure on all the schools. A total of 26 schools come under Jan Shiksha Kendra Bija Deori. It is alleged that Mukesh Namdev filed an RTI against the schools through his partner Kamal Shukla and then demanded a bribe of Rs 1000 from each primary school and Rs 1500 from each secondary school in lieu of not providing information and not filing RTI again. In this way, a total demand of Rs 30,000 was made.

Demand for money from every primary-secondary school

In the entire case, complainant Dheelan Singh Bisen said that he was troubled by the extortion being done from teachers. That is why he lodged a complaint. Mukesh Kumar Namdev has put unethical pressure on all the schools. A total of 26 schools come under Jan Shiksha Kendra Bija Deori. It is alleged that Mukesh Namdev filed an RTI against the schools through his partner Kamal Shukla and then demanded bribe from every primary school and every secondary school in lieu of not giving information and not filing RTI again.

Lokayukta team planned a trap

In the entire case, Lokayukta Inspector Rekha Prajapati says that the Lokayukta team is working on the policy of zero tolerance against corruption and similar actions will continue in future as well. After verification of the complaint, the Lokayukta team planned a trap on April 4. Mukesh Kumar Namdev was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. A case has been registered against him. The team took action with planning and exposed the accused.
