The management committee of the Waqf Board has given a notice to seven families of Makhani village in Raisen district to vacate the land within 7 days. The management committee of the Waqf Board claims that the land is their property, from demarcation to government documents, the land is in their name. At the same time, the families who have received the notice claim that they have been living on this land for years and the Muslim community has made false papers.
People of the Hindu community say that they will die, but will not leave their homes. People of the Hindu community said that the land which the Muslim community is claiming to be theirs, has been theirs for centuries. The thousands of years old temple of Hardaul also belongs to the Hindu community. The administration said that the matter has come to notice and the Waqf Board will be talked to. At present, those who have received the notice should give a proper reply.
Hindu side’s claim
Chairman of Qabristan Mauja Makhani Tehsil Aftab Hussain has sent the notice with the help of a lawyer. Those who have received the notices said “Muslim community is lying. They are making fake papers. We have been living here for years. (Shown the temple also) I have seen this temple, it is centuries old, these Muslims have come here recently, they were not there earlier. They are occupying and selling government land one after the other.
What is written in the notice?
It is written in the notice “Khasra number 178 area 0.5430 hectare, this land is registered as Waqf property on Registrar Registration serial number 533/437, but you people have encroached upon this Waqf land by building houses for almost 10 years. You should hand over the vacant possession of the Waqf house to the Waqf within seven days of receiving the notice, otherwise the party will be forced to take action in the competent court.”

Hussain family showed papers

This village with a population of 1700 has 850 votes and only one Muslim family with 20 members lives here. Waqf Board forms a management committee of five people in areas with small graveyards, which has the right to look after the graveyard. Village Aftab Hussain, the president of the management committee formed in Makhani village, has sent this notice to the families of the village through his lawyer. While talking to India TV, Aftab Hussain’s father Anwar Hussain and brother Ansar Hussain showed the documents of Khasra number 178 and Khasra number 179 being owned by the Waqf Board and also showed the demarcation report of the Tehsildar recently.
Muslim family claims – have lived here for 100 years
According to Anwar Hussain, the society is wrongly saying that he has come just a few years ago. 3 to 4 Muslim families lived in village Makhani for more than 100 years, the rest left from here, but his family is still present here for years. This land is completely the property of the Waqf. According to Anwar Hussain, he also has a Panchnama of the villagers, in which the villagers have said that the land is Workford land and the current occupants are building houses on it.
District Collector’s reply
When the matter came to light, Raisen Collector Arun Kumar Vishwakarma said that if any kind of notice has been issued by the Waqf Board, then we do not have complete details about what has been written in that notice. Because this matter has been brought to our notice by the media, once we talk to the Waqf Board, we will try to understand the whole matter. Secondly, those who have been issued notices should present their side properly at the right place. We will take the decision which is right from the policy point of view.
