Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and 118 diplomats from 77 countries will visit the Maha Kumbh Mela on Saturday. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and diplomats will take a holy dip in the Sangam, while CM Yogi Adityanath will attend a religious ceremony. This is the first visit of VIPs after the death of devotees in the stampede incident at Maha Kumbh.
Circle Officer (Protocol-III) Pratima Singh on Saturday confirmed the proposed visit of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and CM Yogi to Maha Kumbh Nagar, however, he did not share the details of the Vice President’s program. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Maha Kumbh on February 5.
Yogi will visit Maha Kumbh today for the first time after the accident
On Saturday, CM Adityanath will attend the Pattabhishek ceremony at Satuva Baba’s camp at around 4 pm. According to the official statement, 118 diplomats from 77 countries will reach the Maha Kumbh Mela on February 1, where they will be given a grand welcome at Arail.
These diplomats will hoist their respective national flags at Arail and take a holy dip in the Sangam. The statement further said that the diplomats will also visit Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop and Lathe Hue Hanuman Temple.

The countries participating in the Maha Kumbh include the United States, South Africa, France, Russia, Brazil, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Nepal and Canada.

A similar diplomatic gathering was also organized during the 2019 Kumbh. An official here said that some of the visiting delegates may also take a dip in the Sangam.
The official said security measures have already been beefed up in view of his visit while keeping in mind the convenience of common pilgrims, who come in lakhs every day to attend the 12-year religious mega festival.
