Mumbai: It is said that no matter how much effort is made to hide the crime, one day it comes to the fore. This saying is absolutely true for a man arrested from Rajgarh in Maharashtra. This man has now been arrested in a case of attempt to murder 37 years ago.

What is the whole matter?

A Mumbai official said that a man wanted in a 37-year-old attempt to murder case was arrested on Wednesday from a remote area in Raigad district of coastal Maharashtra.

The accused Mangesh Govind More alias Mangesh Manjrekar was absconding since 1988.

The official said that a team of Azad Maidan police station arrested him from Nanemachi in Mahad tehsil. The village is located in a hilly area and there is no proper road. He said that the mobile network is poor in the area.

The official said that Manjrekar was wanted in a case of attempt to murder registered in 1988 at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai and a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. There are already other criminal cases registered against him. But he escaped the clutches of the police as he had separated himself from the family and kept changing his hideout.

He said that the investigating officers keeping an eye on his family residence in Ranwad village of Mahad got information that Manjrekar was living in Nanemachi area. Accordingly, a team was sent to Nanemachi and Manjrekar was arrested. He will be produced in the court on Thursday. After this case came to light, people are praising the police and saying that if the police everywhere becomes so vigilant then crimes will not happen.
