Maharashtra: A man has been arrested in Thane district of Maharashtra for having physical relations with a 25-year-old bar singer on the pretext of marriage and defaming her. An official gave this information on Monday. The official said that some time ago the accused youth and the victim became friends.
The officer of Narpoli police station said that on November 11 last year, the accused took the victim to a lodge in Bhiwandi area, where both of them drank alcohol. When the victim was intoxicated, the accused had physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage and also took objectionable pictures of her. Police said that later he shared the pictures with the acquaintances of the victim.
Accused arrested
The officer said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim, the accused was arrested on Saturday. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code and Information Technology Act.
Sexual abuse case in Nagpur
A 45-year-old psychologist was arrested in Nagpur for allegedly blackmailing and sexually abusing at least 50 students in the last 15 years. The accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The incident came to light when a former student approached the police, upset over being blackmailed by the accused. “The psychologist allegedly lured students, especially girls, by promising personal and professional help. He organised trips and camps where he sexually abused them, took obscene photographs and later used them to blackmail them,” the official said.
