Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: 1,633 aspirants have applied for tickets to the Congress for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, while the Nationalist Congress Party (SP), a constituent of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), has received 1,338 such applications. Elections are likely to be held in November for 288 seats of the Maharashtra Assembly. Sources said that the Congress has received 485 applications from Vidarbha, 325 from Marathwada, 303 from Western Maharashtra, 256 from Mumbai, 141 from North Maharashtra and 123 from Konkan.
According to sources, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) received 38 applications for the Deolali seat in Nashik district. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Vinayak Raut said that his party workers have sought tickets from 210 constituencies. In the Lok Sabha elections, out of 48 seats in Maharashtra, 30 seats were won by the Maha Vikas Aghadi, while one seat was won by a Congress rebel. Congress remained at the forefront in the state with victory on 13 seats.
How much payment to apply?
Let us tell you that on July 6, the Congress had sought applications for tickets from those willing to contest the assembly elections. In a statement issued by the state Congress, it was said that the general category claimants will have to pay Rs 20,000 to the party fund for the application. At the same time, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and women were asked to pay Rs 10,000 for the application. The time given for this was August 10.
These applications were sought for all 288 assembly seats in the state. During this, a senior Congress leader had said that the party has lakhs of workers in the state, so this decision was taken to give due importance to bring forward candidates with exceptional ability. Along with this it was said that if possible, efforts should be made to support such workers and field them in the election field
