Maharashtra: CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates Phase 2A of Mumbai Metro Phase-3 from BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has inaugurated Phase 2A of Mumbai Metro Phase-3 from BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde was also present during this. During the inauguration of the metro from Bandra Kurla Complex to Acharya Atre Chowk, Fadnavis said, ‘Phase-2A of Mumbai Metro Line 3, extending from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka), will be opened to the public from tomorrow, which will prove to be another milestone in the city’s ambitious underground metro network.’

6 new underground stations in this new route

Along with this, he said, ‘This new route includes 6 underground stations. These stations are Dharavi, Shitladevi, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, Worli and Acharya Atre Chowk. This entire route gives important connectivity to some of the most densely populated and commercially vibrant areas of Mumbai, including religious centers like Siddhivinayak Temple.’

The journey will take about 15 minutes
The CM said that a total of 8 trains will run on it now. They will make 244 rounds every day. The journey from BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk will take 15 minutes 20 seconds. Overall, it is a 33 km long route.

9 km route started now
CM Fadnavis said that we opened a 13 km division for the first time last October and today we are starting another 9 km route. Our target is to complete the remaining route from Worli to Cuffe Parade by August.

The CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to inaugurate the final phase. This is not just a metro but a new era of mobility for Mumbai.

13 lakh passengers will be able to travel
Let us tell you that the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Corridor (Line 3) is the first and only fully underground metro line being implemented for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Cuffe Parade station in Colaba and the Aarey JVLR station near Seepz are the stations located at either end of the corridor. Once fully operational, Line 3 will serve around 13 lakh passengers daily. Each train (8 coach train) will carry around 2,500 passengers.
