It may be noted that Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases of ‘Guillain-Barre Syndrome’ (GBS). Pawar said, “Recently, an outbreak of GBS was reported in an area of Pune. Panicked by this, some people linked it to water pollution while others speculated that it was caused by eating chicken. Such apprehensions were reviewed in detail and it was concluded that there is no need to kill the chickens.”
The reason for the spread of GBS came to light
Ajit Pawar said, “Regarding this disease, doctors also advise that the food to be eaten should be cooked thoroughly. Pawar said that the situation of GBS in the state is currently under control and due to this there is no need to kill the chickens.” According to health officials, a new case of GBS was reported on Saturday, taking the total number of suspected and confirmed cases in the state to 208.
