Maharashtra Deputy CM and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Thursday, January 23, warned the Uddhav Thackeray faction’s Shiv Sena (UBT). He has clearly said that if Shiv Sena (UBT) does not stop criticizing his party and Mahayuti, then only two MLAs out of the current 20 will remain in the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.
According to a PTI report, on his visit to ‘Anand Ashram’ to pay tribute to Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray and his guru Anand Dighe on their birth anniversary, Eknath Shinde said, “The people of the state gave a befitting reply to Shiv Sena (UBT) in last year’s assembly elections and it is time for them to introspect.”

The Maharashtra Deputy CM also said, “From day one, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), especially Shiv Sena (UBT), has been criticising me and the Mahayuti, but nothing worked and the people of the state gave them a befitting reply and showed them their place. If this continues, they will come down from 20 to zero.”
He said, “A large number of workers and leaders of the opposition parties, especially Shiv Sena (UBT), have joined our Shiv Sena in recent times and this trend will continue. Some workers and leaders from other states have also joined Shiv Sena and the demand for Shiv Sena is increasing. In the coming days, Shiv Sena will open branches in other states.”
No compromise on Balasaheb Thackeray’s principles – Eknath Shinde
Eknath Shinde further said, ”Balasaheb Thackeray’s birth anniversary is being celebrated in a grand manner this year as before. We will celebrate his centenary next year. Shiv Sena has never compromised on Balasaheb Thackeray’s principles and Anand Dighe’s teachings and neither will it. That is why the workers like Shiv Sena. He said that we will reach every house in the state and tell the people about the work done by the Mahayuti government
Mahayuti alliance had won 230 seats
In the state assembly elections held in November last year, BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP retained power by winning 230 out of 288 assembly seats under the Mahayuti alliance. BJP won 132 seats, Shiv Sena 57 and NCP 41 seats. Meanwhile, in MVA, Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats, Congress 16 and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP) won 10 seats.
