Maharashtra Election: Congress took action against 28 rebel candidates, expelled 28 rebels contesting elections as independents from the party for 6 years

Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: Voting is scheduled to be held on November 20 in a single phase for all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. Before that, the Congress, which is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, has taken major action against rebel candidates. The Maharashtra unit of the Congress on Sunday suspended 28 rebel candidates for six years for ‘anti-party’ activities. These candidates are in the fray against the official candidates of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in the elections to be held on November 20 in 22 assembly constituencies of the state.

The prominent leaders against whom action has been taken include former ministers Rajendra Mulak (Ramtek constituency), Yagyavalkya Jichkar (Katol), Kamal Vyavahare (Kasba), Manoj Shinde (Kopri Pachpakhadi) and Aba Bagul (Parvati). A Congress statement said that the decision has been taken on the instructions of AICC in-charge Ramesh Chennithala.

These people were also expelled from the party
The rebel candidates who have been expelled from the party include rebel Shamkant Saner from Sindkheda, Rajendra Thakur from Shrivardhan, Aba Bagul from Parvati, Manish Anand from Shivajinagar, Suresh Kumar Jethaliya and Kalyan Borade from Partur, Chandrapal Chouksey from Ramtek seat, Sonal Kove, Manoj Sindhe, Avinash Lad, Anandrao Gedam, Shabbir Khan, Hanskumar Pandey, Mangal Bhujbal, Abhilasha Gavture, Kamal Vyavahare, Mohanrao Dandekar, Premsagar Ganvir, Yagyavalkya Jichkar, Ajay Lanjewar, Rajendra Mulak, Vijay Khadse and Vilas Patil.

Let us tell you that there is going to be a close contest between Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. Voting will be held on November 20 and counting will be held on November 23. The term of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is going to end on November 26.

In this election, Mahavikas Aghadi has the challenge of repeating the Lok Sabha election results, while Mahayuti will have to win 145 seats to come back to power. Both the parties are trying their best to show their strength.
