Maharashtra: Police arrested 10 accused within 12 hours for kidnapping the 20-year-old son of Sanjay Rambhaji Shelke, a famous builder of Ambarnath and demanding a ransom of Rs 40 crore

The police arrested 10 accused within 12 hours of kidnapping the 20-year-old son of Sanjay Rambhaji Shelke, a famous builder of Ambarnath, Maharashtra, and demanding a ransom of Rs 40 crore and rescued the young man safely. The criminal background of all the arrested accused has been revealed. Some of these accused were already wanted in fraud cases. Surprisingly, the main accused lived in the building of the same builder whose son was kidnapped.

Know what is the whole matter
On Tuesday, the Swift car of Ambarnath builder Sanjay Shelke’s son was stopped by an Ertiga car and he was forcibly made to sit in another car. The kidnappers immediately demanded a ransom of Rs 40 crore from Sanjay Shelke and threatened that if the money was not paid, his son would be killed. Sanjay Shelke immediately reported the incident to Ambarnath police. Realizing the seriousness of the matter, the police formed 8 teams of 15 officers and 80 policemen. To trace the accused, the police started scanning 45 CCTV footage and technical surveillance. But, the accused kept changing their location frequently, due to which the police faced difficulties.

Ramson negotiation
The kidnappers first demanded Rs 40 crore, but later they agreed to Rs 7 crore, finally they agreed to Rs 2 crore and demanded to send the money by Ola car. The police chased the Ola car on a bike in plain clothes in a filmy style, but the kidnappers became suspicious of the presence of the police. After this, they tried to escape by leaving the kidnapped youth near Pise Dam, Bhiwandi.

The youth was saved due to the intelligence of the police
The police rescued the kidnapped youth safely in time and caught one of the accused with the help of mobile location. On his information, 9 other accused were also arrested. The police also seized pistols, other weapons and vehicles in this action.

Criminal background of the arrested accused
DCP Sudhakar Pathare said that among the arrested accused, Devidas Waghmare and Dattatraya Pawar were earlier working in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation department, but they were suspended for cheating several people of Rs 2 crore 75 lakh in the name of getting them jobs through fake means. Complaints have already been filed against the accused in this case at the Agripada police station. All the 10 accused were produced in the court by the police, from where they were sent to police custody till October 3.
