Maharashtra: With the announcement of assembly election dates, turmoil begins in political alliances, Mahayuti gets a big jolt when Rashtriya Samaj Party (RSP) chief Mahadev Jankar announces to leave Mahayuti and decides to contest the elections alone.

With the announcement of the dates of Maharashtra Assembly elections, there has been turmoil in political alliances. On one hand, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is brainstorming on the seat sharing, while on the other hand, many meetings are also being held in the Mahayuti. Meanwhile, the Mahayuti has suffered a major setback when Rashtriya Samaj Party (RSP) chief Mahadev Jankar announced to leave the Mahayuti and decided to contest the elections alone.

Mahadev Jankar announced that his party will now contest the 288 assembly seats alone. Last time he contested from the Parbhani Lok Sabha seat, but he had to face defeat. Now, he has decided to separate from the Mahayuti and field himself and his party in the election.

Was not happy with the seat sharing
If political sources are to be believed, Mahadev Jankar is angry with the Mahayuti because no talks were held with him before allocating seats to his party in the assembly elections. BJP, Shiv Sena of Shinde faction and NCP of Ajit Pawar faction were continuously holding meetings regarding seat sharing, but he was sidelined in some meeting, due to which he became dissatisfied and decided to leave the Mahayuti.

Will test our strength – Mahadev Jankar

While talking to the media, Mahadev Jankar said that he is not angry with anyone in the NDA Mahagathbandhan, but the Rashtriya Samaj Party should now stand at par with the major political forces of the country. He is doing this to establish his party at par with big parties like BJP and Congress. He has decided to contest the elections on his own. Because he wants to test his political strength.

He says that his party will contest elections on 288 seats and he will try his luck. He also clarified that when he was a part of the Mahayuti, he was given one Lok Sabha seat. He has taken this step because he wants to recognize the strength of his party. He also said that Rashtriya Samaj Party needs at least 12 MLAs or two MPs to get recognition.

Step taken for the future of the party

Mahadev Jankar also told that he will also have to elect some MLAs to fulfill the conditions of the Central Election Commission. For this reason, his party has decided to contest the elections alone. He said that he has no dispute with Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi, but this was a necessary step for the future of the party.

This decision of Mahadev Jankar is a big setback for Mahayuti, because Mahayuti had planned to work unitedly for the assembly elections. Now it has to be seen how Rashtriya Samaj Party contesting alone affects the election results.
