Mahoba: Mahoba court of UP sentenced former minister’s son to life imprisonment and former MLA’s son to ten years’ imprisonment in the case of bloody conflict between SP-BSP six years ago.

Mahoba: Mahoba Court of UP has sentenced the son of a former minister to life imprisonment and the son of a former MLA to ten years in prison in the case of the bloody conflict between SP-BSP six years ago. While 11 accused have been acquitted. This case pertains to the 2017 assembly elections when an independent candidate was killed in a bloody clash between SP and BSP on Mahoba Sadar seat and the son and supporter of SP candidate and former minister was shot.

In this case, six years after the incident, the Mahoba court has sentenced the former minister’s son to life imprisonment and found the former MLA’s son guilty of attempt to murder to 10 years’ imprisonment along with a fine, whereas in the same case, 11 accused in the case have been acquitted as they were not proven guilty. There was a lot of commotion in the court due to the decision of the high profile case. In view of security, heavy police force was also deployed in the court premises.

Know what is the whole matter?
In fact, in the assembly elections held in 2017, this bloody conflict was seen in the evening before voting for Mahoba Sadar seat. Government advocate Dinesh Singh said that SP and BSP supporters had clashed over the election campaign. In which there was rapid firing on both sides. In this bloody clash, independent candidate Rakesh Lala Singh was killed and SP candidate Siddh Gopal Sahu’s son Saket Sahu and a supporter Abdul Tariq were shot. In this case, a case was registered against a total of 13 people from both the parties.

The decision came after six years
After a trial that lasted for about six years, based on the arguments of the government lawyers and the advocacy of the prosecution and the police, Additional Sessions Judge, First Bandit Affected Area, Rajeev Paliwal, while giving his verdict, declared 11 people from both the parties innocent. Whereas Saket, son of former minister Siddh Gopal Sahu, has been found guilty of murder and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life and a fine of Rs 25,000. Anurudh Pratap Singh, son of former MLA Arimardan Singh, has been found guilty of attempt to murder and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment under Section 307.
