Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has said in a post on social media platform X that Manipur has been burning for almost one and a half years. Violence, murders, riots, displacement every day… houses are burning, families are being ruined. Lives are being destroyed. Thousands of families are forced to spend days in relief camps. The Prime Minister has not made any effort to stop it till now.
The Prime Minister’s indifference is unforgivable
In the same post, she further said, it has never happened that a state of the country is left burning like this for months and there is no talk about it. The internal security of the country does not depend on anyone’s wish, it is an essential responsibility. The Prime Minister’s indifference is unforgivable.
People wanted Modi to come to meet them
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has also targeted PM Modi. He said that the abject failure of Prime Minister Modi in Manipur is unforgivable. Former Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey has raised the voice of the people of Manipur. The people of the strife-torn state are distressed and sad. They wanted Prime Minister Modi to come to meet them.
The Home Minister has also abandoned his responsibility
He alleged, PM Modi did not spend even a second in Manipur in the last 16 months. Violence continues unabated in the state. People are suffering the consequences of Modi-Shah’s involvement. It seems that like the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister has also abandoned his constitutional responsibility. He is busy doing politics and rallies in the states going to polls.
