The monsoon session of the Parliament is underway. Meanwhile, Chandrashekhar, MP from Nagina, raised the issue of the school accident in Jhalawar, Rajasthan, by protesting outside the Parliament. While he was protesting, Samajwadi Party MP from Kairana, Iqra Hasan arrived there. Chandrashekhar handed her a poster as well. Iqra was seen smiling while holding the poster.
It was written on the poster, ‘We thought it was a school, but it was your death room. Deceased student, Jhalawar.’ Iqra Hasan has shared a picture with this poster on her Twitter handle. At the same time, Chandrashekhar has demanded that the innocents of Jhalawar should get justice. He tweeted, ‘On July 25, the dilapidated building of Government Higher Primary School, Piplodi, located in Manpasand village in Manohar police station area of Jhalawar district of Rajasthan, suddenly collapsed. In this heart-wrenching accident, 7 innocent children died a painful death and 11 children are seriously injured. They are struggling between life and death.’
He said, ‘This is not an accident, but a murder committed due to government negligence and lack of accountability towards the people. Ignoring the dilapidated building for years, the neglect given to the education system and the thinking that does not value the lives of rural children took the lives of these innocent children. The peaceful demonstration with the placard in the Parliament House premises is not just a protest, but a warning to shake the system.’
Nagina MP put forward 4 demands
Nagina MP put forward four demands from the Rajasthan government. He said, ‘First, the injured children should be given the best treatment and rehabilitation facilities. Second, the families of the deceased should be given compensation of Rs 1 crore and permanent help. Third, the injured children should get financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh and long-term care. Fourth, there should be an emergency security audit of all government school buildings and accountability of the culprits should be fixed and the most important thing is that the government has ordered an investigation. Hopefully this time the results of the investigation will come out because in our country investigations often become a means of burying the truth.
