MP: The 27-year-old son of a Bharatiya Janata Party councillor and his friend have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a road accident in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh. Two people were killed in this accident. Police gave this information on Sunday.
Police officials said that the accused councillor’s son also tried to mislead the police and hide the Thar car.
Police officials said that the accident took place near Motijheel in Bahodapur police station area on Friday night. During this, a Thar vehicle crushed the mother and daughter on the road, in which mother Gora Devi (55) and her daughter Gauri Kushwaha (35) died.
Additional Superintendent of Police Niranjan Sharma said that after carrying out the incident, the accused fled but when the matter was investigated, it was revealed that Harsh Rai (27) had hit them with his car.
He said that when the police reached to arrest him, he misled the police and said that his friend had taken this vehicle. Apart from this, the accused also tried to hide the vehicle.
Sharma said that the police saw the CCTV footage and found evidence and on that basis arrested Harsh Rai and one of his friends. Accused Harsh Rai’s father Chandan Rai has also been a councilor and currently his mother Rekha Rai is the councilor of ward number four.
