A public hearing was going on in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. All the top officials including the collector were present there. Then a beggar reached there. He made such a complaint about his wives that all the people present there were stunned. Disabled beggar Shafiq Sheikh told the collector that he has two wives. Both of them fight a lot with each other, due to which his job of begging is getting affected.

The beggar said – But he does not want to leave both the wives. Rather he wants to keep both of them together, under the same roof. Collector Rishav Kumar Gupta was surprised to hear this from Shafiq. Not only this, the officials of other departments sitting in the public hearing were also stunned. The collector has sent the complaint of the beggar to the Women and Child Development Department for investigation. Now the department will try to resolve the matter by calling both the wives of Shafiq.

Here, Shafiq, who came with the complaint, told that he has two wives. The name of the first wife is Shabana, while the name of the second wife is Farida. He married Shabana in 2022 and Farida in 2024. Shafiq is blind and earns his living by begging in trains and buses running between Khandwa and Maharashtra.

Collector sahab should explain to the wives

Shafiq told that he earns two to three thousand rupees daily from begging. Shafiq said that he is capable of raising both the wives. But both the wives quarrel a lot among themselves, due to which his employment of begging is getting affected. That is why the Collector sahab should intervene in this matter and explain to both the wives.

What did the collector say after listening to the beggar?

The collector was stunned for a while after hearing these words of Shafiq who begged. But later he smiled and instructed the Women and Child Development Officer to resolve this matter. It was said that both the wives of Shafiq should be called and counselled. Shafiq said that he wants to keep both the wives together in the same house, but they keep fighting with each other every day, due to which Shafiq is not able to go out to beg in the process of settling their fight. He is not able to earn money in this way.
