India’s richest businessman and Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, arrived in the holy land of Uttarakhand on Friday. He visited the Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, two of the Char Dhams, and offered prayers. Upon his arrival, he was given a grand welcome by Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), who presented him with a traditional Uttarakhandi cap.
During his visit, Ambani donated a total of ₹10 crore to these holy temples. The temple committee stated that the donation will be used for beautification of the shrines, expansion of pilgrim facilities, and preservation of religious heritage. Ambani also pledged assistance in the construction of a 100-room guest house in Badrinath.
During his visit, Ambani shared several important insights from his experience in the holy land. After offering prayers at the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples, Ambani praised the management of the Char Dham Yatra to Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of the temple committee. He said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Char Dham Yatra is being managed in a very systematic manner.”
Ambani said that the Dhami government has made excellent arrangements for pilgrims at various stops along the pilgrimage route. Such safe and well-organized facilities are rarely seen at other pilgrimage sites. He said that he has been visiting Uttarakhand for almost 20 years, but he has never seen such excellent arrangements as in recent times. He also praised the historic work done under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami.
Praised the Dhami Government
Mukesh Ambani also said, “The number of pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand is expected to increase significantly in the next 10 years. He further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, Uttarakhand has achieved remarkable success and set new records.”
Expressed grief over cloudburst incidents
Referring to the recent cloudburst incidents in the state, he expressed his condolences for the loss of life and property. He assured that he and the Reliance Foundation will always stand with Uttarakhand in its time of need. Mukesh Ambani also stated that he will fully cooperate with the Uttarakhand government in protecting the pilgrimage sites and the environment. The Ambani family has played a key role in the beautification of both the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples over the past several years.
