Mumbai: A high speed car in Wadala crushed the family sleeping on the footpoth, the death of a one and a half year old child in the accident, while the mother was seriously injured, the BMC became homeless due to the demolition of the house.

Here in Wadala, a high speed car crushed a woman sleeping on the roadside footpath and her one and a half year old child. In this accident, the child died on the spot. At the same time, the seriously injured woman is struggling between life and death in the hospital. The accident took place near the Ram temple in Wadala at midnight on Saturday-Sunday. Police arrested the accused car driver and started investigating the case.

The woman’s husband Nikhil Lodha told in a complaint to the police that he lived in a roadside colony with his wife Priya and two children Swaroop (5) and Vardhan (1.5). Recently, BMC removed his settlement under the rehabilitation scheme. The BMC gave more than half of the families living in this colony to live, but there are still many families, who are forced to live on footpoths. His family is also involved in this.

Mother-son slept on footpoth
Nikhil told that he has taken a rented room in compulsion, but a lot of his stuff is still on the footpoth. To monitor this, his wife and one and a half year old son were sleeping on the footpoth near the luggage. At the same time, he himself went to Dadar station to bring food with his elder son. Meanwhile, a drunk car driver crushed his wife and son while driving fast.

Car driver arrested
After the accident, the people present on the spot called the police and ambulances. After this, RAK Marg Police has arrested the accused car driver Kamal Vijay Riya (46) resident Bhavya Heights Wadala. It was the police that with the help of an ambulance, his wife took the child to the hospital, where doctors declared his son dead. At the same time, the condition of his wife remains critical. According to the police, investigating the case has been started by registering a case against the accused in the relevant sections.
