A case of rape of a 13-year-old minor girl has come to light in Vakola, Mumbai. After this, Vakola police registered a case against a 21-year-old man under rape and POCSO Act and arrested him from Goregaon.
According to the information received from the police, the accused and the victim first became friends through social media, after which the conversation started between the two. After this, the accused lured the girl and took her to Andheri, where he raped her. On August 15, he took her to Gujarat. It has been said in the complaint that the accused raped her three more times in Gujarat.
Friendship was made on social media
When the girl did not return home after a long time on August 15, the family started looking for her, but nothing was found. After a few days, the girl returned home on her own. She was silent on her return and when the family questioned her, she revealed the incident. To identify the accused, the victim showed his photo from Instagram to her family.
After the boy was identified, the family took the victim to the nearest Vakola police station and informed the police about the incident. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered a case against the accused under sections 4, 8 and 12 of the kidnapping and POCSO Act and arrested him.
