Mumbai: Amid the ongoing suspense over the formation of the new government in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde suddenly left Mumbai for his home district Satara today. He will stay in his native village for the next two days. He will return to Mumbai on Sunday evening. According to sources, Eknath Shinde is angry and hence has gone to Mumbai. According to sources, Eknath Shinde wants to keep the Home Ministry with him along with the Deputy CM, but he is not getting the Home Ministry, so he is angry.
Mahayuti meeting at 8 pm on Sunday
However, after Shinde returns to Mumbai from Satara, a meeting of the Mahayuti can be held at 8 pm on Sunday. In this meeting, the final talk will be done on the distribution of ministries. The leaders of the BJP, the largest constituent party of the Mahayuti, said that they are waiting for the arrival of the central observers for the meeting of the legislative party. At the same time, Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant dismissed the speculations that Shinde is angry and that is why he has left for his native village. Sources said that the swearing-in of the new government is expected to take place next week.
Shinde met Amit Shah in Delhi
Earlier, while talking to reporters in New Delhi on Thursday night, Shinde had said that the talks with Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah regarding the formation of the government were positive and the next round of discussion will be held in Mumbai on Friday. However, BJP sources said that no meeting of Mahayuti leaders was scheduled on Friday. During his Delhi visit, Shinde met Shah and discussed the formation of the next government in the state. Shinde’s colleagues in the outgoing cabinet of the state, Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) and Ajit Pawar (NCP) also met Shah. Shinde returned to Mumbai on Friday morning. He left for his native village Dare in Satara district of western Maharashtra in the evening.
I will not be an obstacle in the formation of government – Shinde
Earlier, Shinde was at the Chief Minister’s official residence ‘Varsha’ in south Mumbai, where he met several visitors, including party leaders and MLAs. Shiv Sena leader Shinde has said several times that he will not be an obstacle in government formation and will abide by the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah regarding the next chief minister. After the landslide victory of the BJP-led Mahayuti in the recently held assembly elections, different views are emerging in the Shiv Sena over Shinde’s place in the next government. Many Shiv Sena leaders are asking Shinde to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister if the BJP offers him. However, another section believes that it would not be right for him to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister after being the Chief Minister for more than two and a half years, sources said. BJP MLAs have not received any information about the legislature party meeting in which they will choose their leader. Fadnavis also returned to Mumbai on Friday after meeting Shah in Delhi regarding government formation.
CM can be announced on this date
About a week has passed since the election results came out in Maharashtra. However, till now BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP have not been able to reach a final decision regarding the post of Chief Minister. Earlier there was news that a meeting of Mahayuti could be held on Friday evening. However, now sources have informed that this meeting has been canceled. According to sources, now first there will be a meeting of BJP Legislature Party. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat had said that Eknath Shinde will take a decision on the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the Mahayuti meeting today. Shinde can stay in the government. At the same time, another Shiv Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar had said that Shiv Sena is with the Mahayuti and Amit Shah has assured that Eknath Shinde will be given due respect.
