Heavy rains in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Sunday caused waterlogging in many places. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds with a speed of 62-87 kmph are expected in some places of Mumbai.

The Meteorological Department said, within the next three to three days, lightning and heavy rains are likely at various places in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts with strong winds at a speed of 62-87 km per hour. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 55-77 mm of rain was recorded in a period of one hour from 11 to 12 pm on Sunday night.
Fishermen advised not to go near North-South Maharashtra
The eastern suburbs received 28-40 mm of rain, while the western suburbs recorded 48-77 mm of rain. In view of the rainy situation, fishermen have been prohibited from going near North and South Maharashtra from June 9 to 13. The Meteorological Department said, there is a possibility of storm winds with a speed of 45-55 km per hour gusting to 65 km per hour on and around the North Maharashtra coast from June 9 to 13. During this time, fishermen are advised not to go to and from the North Maharashtra coast at this time.
Yellow alert issued for metropolis
The weather agency said that due to favorable conditions in Maharashtra, the southwest monsoon has advanced two days from its normal period of June 11. Let us tell you that the monsoon usually arrives by June 11, but last year it started on June 24 due to cyclone Biparjoy over the Arabian Sea. The weather agency has issued a yellow alert for the metropolis. Red alert has been issued due to heavy rains in Sindhudurg, orange alert for Ratnagiri and yellow alert for Palghar, Thane, Mumbai and Raigad. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has advised the local people to be cautious while leaving their homes today.
