Mahavikas Aghadi’s protest continues in Mumbai against the fall of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue. MVA has taken out a march from Hutatma Chowk to Gateway of India. Many leaders including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena UBT leader Aditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole are involved in this protest. NCP chief Sharad Pawar is also likely to join.

In view of the movement of Mahavikas Aghadi, Gateway of India has been closed for tourists from 10 am till further orders. MVA leaders will protest at the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Gate of India. In view of the movement, a large number of police forces have been deployed around the Gateway of India. In view of the movement at Hutatma Chowk, Mumbai Police, State Reserve Police, Riot Control Squad, Maharashtra Security Force, Surveillance Van Control Police, ATS, Traffic Police have been deployed in large numbers.

Mahavikas Aghadi named this movement as ‘Joote Maro’ movement. Workers started gathering at Hutatma Chowk. There is a strong police arrangement. Chappals have also arrived at the spot. During the march, slippers will be hit on the effigy of the government. The workers have slippers in their hands. This movement will be monitored by drones. Maharashtra Police plans to not let the Mahavikas Aghadi march go till the gateway. Police is preparing to stop the march midway. It will take action if the rules are violated. Police is preparing to stop the march till Kalaghoda. Because there is a high security zone ahead of it, beyond it there are court, museum, RBI, Navy Gate and important areas.

This movement is for the honor of Maharashtra – Uddhav Thackeray

Uddhav Thackeray has said that this is an insult to Maharashtra. We are being stopped by our own police in our own Maharashtra. I have never seen such helpless police. What if they apologize?
