The Bagmati Express going from Mysore to Darbhanga collided with a freight train at Kavaraipettai railway station in Tamil Nadu. After the collision, two coaches of the express train caught fire and several coaches derailed. Due to the accident of Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express, the route of many trains has been diverted. Two trains have been canceled after the accident. According to South Western Railway, all the passengers of the derailed train are being taken to Chennai Central by EMU. They will be sent to their destination from Chennai by another train.
The accident took place at Kavaraipettai station on Friday night. 19 passengers have been injured in the accident. They have been admitted to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai for treatment. Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin reached the hospital to see the injured. Considering the accident as a conspiracy, the Railways has handed over its investigation to the NIA. The Railways has also ordered a CRS investigation.
Route of these trains changed
- Train number 13351 Dhanbad-Alappuzha train route has been diverted and sent via Renigunta-Melpakkam-Katpadi stopping at Naidupeta, Sullurupeta, Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Arakkonam. This train left Dhanbad on 10 October at 11.35 am.
- Train number 02122 Jabalpur-Madurai Superfast Special train will go via Melpakkam-Chengalpattu. Due to the change in route, this train will not stop at Chennai Egmore and Tambaram. It was sent from Jabalpur on 10 October at 4.25 pm.
- Train number 12621 Dr. MGR Chennai Central-Tamil Nadu Express route has been changed from Arakkonam-Renigunta to Vijayawada. This train left at 10 pm on 11 October.
- Train number 18190 Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express is being sent via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta. This train left Ernakulam on 11 October at 07.15 am.
Three trains will go via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta route
- Train number 12664 Tiruchirapalli-Howrah Superfast Express is being run via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta. This train left Tiruchira Palli on 11 October at 1.35 pm.
- Train number 07696 Ramanathapuram-Secunderabad Express Special Train is also being sent via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta route. This train left Ramanathapuram on 11 October at 09.50 am.
- The route of train number 06063 Coimbatore-Dhanbad Express Special train has also been changed to Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta. This train was dispatched from Coimbatore Junction on October 11 at 11.50 am.
Two trains canceled after the accident, helpline number released
Due to the train accident, two trains passing through this route have been canceled. These include train number 12077 Dr. MGR Chennai Central Vijayawada Jan Shatabdi Express leaving on Saturday, October 12 at 07.25 am and train number 12078 Vijayawada Dr. MGR Chennai Central Jan Shatabdi Express leaving on Saturday, October 12 at 15.30 pm. The Railway Department has issued helpline numbers 04425354151, 04424354995 after the accident.
The accident was caused deliberately… Railways handed over the investigation of Mysore-Darbhanga Express accident to NIA
Indian Railways has given a big statement regarding the Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express (12578) accident. Railways suspects that the accident was caused deliberately. The accident took place at Kavaraipettai railway station in Tamil Nadu. The train had got the green signal to proceed, as happened in the case of Balasore. The train entered the loop line. A goods train was already standing there. A goods train was already standing there.
The passenger train hit the goods train from behind. The driver was alert. He applied the brakes when he felt the shock. Many were injured in this accident. Some were admitted to the hospital. There is no information about any casualties till the time of writing the news. The investigation of this accident has been handed over to the NIA by the Railways. Two coaches caught fire after the accident
When the Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express collided with a goods train at Kavaraipettai railway station in Tamil Nadu, two of its coaches caught fire and about 12-13 coaches derailed. More than 19 passengers were injured in this accident. All the injured have been immediately admitted to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai.
