Kathmandu: Former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal Rabi Lamichhane has been arrested in a scam. Along with this, arrest warrants have also been issued against 13 other people. Police are also searching for all of them. Let us tell you that Lamichhane, former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, was arrested from his party office here on Friday evening in connection with the misappropriation of funds related to cooperative societies. The Central Bureau of Investigation team raided the office located in Banasthali on the outskirts of the capital.
Meanwhile, the CBI arrested 50-year-old Lamichhane, president of the National Independent Party. Earlier, the Kaski District Court had issued an arrest warrant against the former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister in the Suryadarshan Cooperative Fund embezzlement case. The Parliamentary Inquiry Committee had found that Rs 1.35 billion related to Suryadarshan cooperative societies was misused.

Nepal Police confirmed that an arrest warrant was issued against Lamichhane on Friday in connection with the misuse of cooperative funds. A Kaski district court bench headed by Justice Krishna Jung Shah granted permission for Lamichhane’s arrest. The bench also issued arrest warrants against 13 others.
