Kathmandu: Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been challenged to win a vote of confidence for the fourth time in two years. On May 20, he will have to prove himself in the House. In fact, many parties that were allies of the Prachanda government withdrew their support one after the other. Therefore, this challenge has been presented before Prachanda. Prachanda has expressed confidence that he will win the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Monday.

He is facing a vote of confidence after a coalition partner withdrew its support from his government. Former guerrilla leader Prachanda (69) belongs to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center). This party is the third largest party in the House of Representatives. He will win a vote of confidence in Parliament for the fourth time within 18 months of assuming office. He took office on 25 December 2022. Prime Minister Prachanda said at a ruling party event in Kathmandu on Saturday, “There is no doubt that my government will succeed in the floor test.

Talked about resolving differences
PM Prachanda said, “Differences between the ruling coalition and opposition parties will be resolved through dialogue.” If the party he represents splits or a member of the coalition government withdraws support, the Prime Minister is required to seek a vote of confidence within 30 days. The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) withdrew its support from the coalition government last week. The new government needs at least 138 votes in the 275-member House of Representatives to win the vote of confidence.
