Prayagraj special trains will go from platform number 16 only
Northern Railway said that a day after the tragic incident of stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, Northern Railway implemented several measures to avoid any such untoward incident in the coming days. It has been decided that all special trains going towards Prayagraj will be run from platform number 16. Therefore, all the passengers wishing to go to Prayagraj will come and go from Ajmeri Gate of New Delhi Railway Station. The operation of regular trains from all platforms will continue as usual. This is a step towards avoiding peak hour crowds from gathering on one platform.
Railway station still crowded
Let us tell you that a day after 18 people lost their lives in a stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, the station remained crowded on Sunday as well. Thousands of passengers had to struggle to board various trains amid heavy crowds. Despite additional measures, passengers continue to arrive, most of whom are Maha Kumbh pilgrims going to Prayagraj. The excessive crowd has made it difficult for the authorities to handle the situation. The stampede took place around 10 pm on Saturday night. Still, even after several hours, the crowd looks more or less the same as before. Thousands of people are still struggling to stand on platforms and foot-over bridges.
