New Delhi: Congress formed four committees to prepare its Haryana unit for the elections, which include election committee, political committee and manifesto committee.

New Delhi: Congress on Sunday formed four committees to prepare its Haryana unit for the elections, which include election committee, political committee and manifesto committee. The party has also constituted a disciplinary committee. Parliamentary elections are to be held in April-May while state assembly elections are to be held later this year.

Party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge has constituted the Haryana Pradesh Election Committee under the chairmanship of party’s state unit chief Udbhan which includes former chief ministers Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kiran Chaudhary, Deependra Hooda, Raghuveer Singh Kadian, Aftab Ahmed, Captain Ajay Yadav and Colonel Rohit Chaudhary and others have been included as members.

Apart from 24 leaders, Haryana State Youth Congress President, Haryana Mahila Congress President, Haryana NSUI President and Chief Convener of Haryana Seva Dal have been made ex-officio members in the election committee.

Congress President Kharge also constituted the Political Affairs Committee in Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee. The Political Affairs Committee has a total of 51 members and Deepak Babaria, in-charge of Haryana in the All India Congress Committee (AICC), is its head.

Bhan, Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, Surjewala, Kiran Chaudhary, Deependra Singh Hooda, Kadian, Ahmed and Captain Yadav have also been included in the Political Affairs Committee.

According to a release issued by the party, Kharge also formed a 27-member manifesto committee, which will be chaired by Geeta Bhukkal and convenor Bharat Bhushan Batra. According to the party, apart from this, AICC frontal and department presidents of Haryana and presidents of all PCC cells will be included in the manifesto committee. According to the release, the party has also constituted a four-member disciplinary committee under the chairmanship of Mahendra Pratap.
