New Delhi: During a special discussion on ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister J.P. Nadda accused the previous Congress-led government of being lax in dealing with terrorism. Nadda said that despite the 2005 Delhi serial bomb blasts, the 2006 Varanasi terror attack and the 2006 bomb blasts in Mumbai local trains, the then government did not take any concrete action.
“…terror, trade and tourism went on together then”
J.P. Nadda said in his address, “The issue is that then terror, trade and tourism went on together between India and Pakistan.” Referring to the 2008 Jaipur bomb blasts, he also questioned the limits of the Congress government’s appeasement. Nadda said that even after these blasts carried out by the Indian Mujahideen, India and Pakistan agreed on specific confidence-building measures.
He said in a scathing tone, “They kept firing bullets at us and we went to feed them biryani.” Nadda also alleged that the then government had allowed “triple-entry permits” to cross the Line of Control (LoC), which encouraged the infiltration of terrorists.
“A former defense minister had said – I am afraid to go to Kashmir”
In the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister J.P. Nadda said, “…a former defense minister had said that India’s policy is that not developing borders is the best defense. Undeveloped borders are safer than developed borders.” He said, “A former Home Minister had said that I am afraid to go to Kashmir.” JP Nadda said that we were living in darkness in this country. From 2014-2025, terrorist attacks stopped in the country except in Jammu and Kashmir.”
JP Nadda said, “…Talking about the Uri surgical strike… this was the first time since 1947 that the Indian Prime Minister said publicly that the culprits of the (Uri) attack will not be spared… and within three days surgical strikes were carried out and terrorist hideouts were destroyed… this is changing India… see the political will compared to those who said we will see what to do.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently responding to the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha. During this, he also targeted Congress fiercely. He said that Congress lost PoK but BJP will take it back. He said that the reason for the growth and spread of terrorism in this country has been Congress’s appeasement and vote bank politics.
Mentioned Operation Mahadev
Amit Shah said in his address that the terrorists of Pahalgam have been killed by the security forces in Operation Mahadev. He said that just as the terrorists had shot innocent people in the head, in the same way his skull was blown off in the action of the security forces during the encounter. On being questioned on the name Operation Mahadev, Amit Shah said that Har-Har Mahadev is not just a slogan of religion. It is the proclamation of our security forces.
PM Modi’s resolution to free Kashmir from terrorism
On being questioned about the timing of Operation Mahadev, he said that it is not right to raise such a question. Our security forces have carried out this operation in such difficult conditions in a remote area, their courage and bravery should be saluted. Amit Shah said that the government is determined to make Kashmir free from terrorism. This is the resolution of Narendra Modi.

Narendra Modi had said that the time has come to raze the terrorists’ remaining land to the ground. In Operation Sindoor, while we destroyed the masters of the terrorists, in Operation Mahadev, those terrorists were eliminated who had killed innocent people in Pahalgam.
Salute to the bravery of the army
Amit Shah said that I salute the three armies with great respect in the discussion in the House. In the CCS meeting, the army was given a free hand to take action. On May 7, 9 terrorist bases of Pakistan were destroyed. Terrorist bases like Lashkar, Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed. You gave us Pak occupied Kashmir but BJP will take back PoK.
On 8 May, Pakistan fired on residential areas of India. It started attacking our military bases with missiles and drones. On 9 May, Indian Army destroyed 8 airbases and air defence systems of Pakistan.
Pakistan came on its knees due to India’s attack
When India hit Pakistan hard, it came on its knees. Pakistan’s DGMO called our DGMO and asked him to stop the attack. Only then did the war stop. This war did not stop on someone else’s saying. Our aim was not to wage war from the beginning. Our aim was not to harm the people of Pakistan. Amit Shah said that through Operation Sindoor, we attacked the heart of Pakistan.
Afzal was not hanged till Chidambaram was the Home Minister
Reacting to the statement of senior Congress leader and MP P Chidambaram, Amit Shah said that he was saying that what is the proof that the terrorists came from Pakistan. Amit Shah said that as long as P Chidambaram was the Home Minister, Afzal Guru was not hanged. Amit Shah said in the Rajya Sabha that the people of the country are seeing the mentality of the Congress party. Their priority is not the security of the country, but politics.
Earlier, when Amit Shah stood up to answer in the Rajya Sabha, the opposition was demanding an answer from PM Modi. Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said, “The opposition demanded that the Prime Minister come to the House and answer. If the Prime Minister does not come to the House despite being present in the Parliament premises, it is an insult to the House.” After the opposition continuously demanded an answer from the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had informed the House that the Prime Minister was present in his office. The opposition walked out of the House.
