New Delhi: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 6 inspiring women have been given the responsibility of handling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media women’s accounts. Through this, Prime Minister Modi has tried to demonstrate his unwavering commitment towards women empowerment. This unique move has given these extraordinary women a unique opportunity to share their wonderful journey, achievements and challenges with the nation. These women are from different corners of the country, including South, North, East, West and Central India.
They belong to different areas of the country
Vaishali Rameshbabu is from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Anjali Agarwal is from Delhi, Anita Devi is from Nalanda in Bihar, Elina Mishra is from Bhubaneswar in Odisha, Ajayta Shah is from Rajasthan and Shilpi Soni is from Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. While the 4 women presented their experiences individually, two of them, Shilpi and Elina, jointly shared their inspiring journey. Vaishali Rameshbabu- Vaishali, a talented chess player, has been competing at the highest level since the age of 6. Her dedication to the game is the result of which she won the prestigious title of Grandmaster of Chess in 2023. She won the bronze medal at the Women’s World Blitz Chess Championship 2024. She continues to make India proud on the global stage with her strategic talent and perseverance.
Anita Devi.
Anita Devi- Overcoming the obstacles of poverty and adversity, Anita Devi, popularly known as the ‘Mushroom Lady of Bihar’, took a bold step towards self-reliance by setting up the Madhopur Farmers Producers Company in 2016. Through mushroom cultivation, she has not only uplifted hundreds of rural women but also created employment opportunities for them, paving the way for financial independence and economic empowerment.
Elina Mishra and Shilpi Soni.
Elina Mishra and Shilpi Soni- Elina Mishra and Shilpi Soni are among the distinguished scientists. Both these scientists are examples of the contribution of Indian women in cutting-edge research and technology. Elina Mishra is a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) located in Mumbai, while Shilpi Soni is a distinguished space scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Ajaita Shah – As the founder and CEO of Frontier Markets, Ajayta is transforming rural entrepreneurship by empowering more than 35,000 digitally enabled women entrepreneurs. Her initiative helps these women become self-reliant and supply essential services and products, thereby bridging the gap between rural markets and economic development.
Dr. Anjali Agarwal.
Dr. Anjali Agarwal- Dr. Anjali Agarwal is the founder of Samarthyam Centre for Universal Accessibility. With a career spanning three decades, she has dedicated her life to ensuring inclusive mobility and barrier-free infrastructure. Her efforts have played a key role in making schools and public spaces across India more accessible to people with disabilities.
