A retired scientist and his wife were held hostage at gunpoint in their own house in Prashant Vihar area of Rohini. After this, the robbers looted jewelry and cash worth about two crore rupees.
According to the police, the case is of F Block of Prashant Vihar. The victim scientist has been identified as Shibu Singh and his wife has been identified as Nirmala. This incident happened on Friday afternoon. Actually the elderly couple was in their house, during this time 2 people came and entered the house calling themselves ‘courier boys’.
After this, these people held Shibu and his wife Nirmala hostage at gunpoint. During this, the accused also beat them up. The victims say that jewellery and cash worth Rs 2 crore have been looted from their house.
Immediately after the incident, the victim informed his son about the matter. After which the son informed the police about the incident. After this incident came to light, the police has come into active mode and the matter is being investigated. According to the police, both the victims have been medically examined. Six police teams have been formed to catch the accused.
The police say that looking at the manner of the incident, it appears that a member of the house or family is involved in this case. The police is investigating the CCTV and recording statements.
