A woman in Noida has claimed she found a centipede inside an ice-cream tub ordered through an instant delivery app, said food safety officials, who have begun investigating the matter.
As soon as the information about the case was received, the team of the Food and Supplies Department reached the store of the delivery app located in Sector-22 and banned the sale of all ice creams. Samples of ice cream will be tested. The department has also said that a case will be registered against the ice cream manufacturing company and the delivery app.
Deepa Devi, a resident of Sector-12, had ordered ice cream from an instant delivery app to make mango shake for the children. She opened the lid of the ice cream. A centipede was seen moving in it. She lodged a complaint on the helpline number of the app.
The company accepted the mistake and refunded the money for the ice cream. On receiving information about the case, the team of food safety officers also reached Sector-12. On the basis of the complaint of the victim, they reached the store of the app located in Sector-22 and banned the sale of ice cream. Chief Food Safety Officer Akshay Goyal said that action is being taken by taking the complaint promptly in the matter.
