Jajpur: A major accident took place in Jajpur, Odisha on Monday. Here a bus fell from the bridge, 5 people died in this accident. It is being told that this bus was going from Puri to Kolkata, during this accident happened. At least five people, including a woman, died and about 40 others were injured when the bus fell from the bridge. Police has given information about this accident. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has also expressed grief after this accident. Along with this, an ex-gratia amount of Rs 3 lakh each has been announced for the families of the deceased.

The bus was going from Puri to Kolkata
Giving information, the police said that this accident happened at around 9 pm at Barabati bridge of National Highway-16 when the bus with 50 passengers was going from Puri to Kolkata. Dharamshala police station in-charge Inspector Tapan Kumar Naik said, “Four men and one woman have died in the accident. Around 40 people are injured and 30 of them are being taken to Cuttack SCB Medical College Hospital. Rescue operations are underway at the accident site, he said.

CM expressed grief
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed regret over the accident and announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 3 lakh each for the families of the deceased. CM Naveen Patnaik posted on social media platform Also, I wish speedy recovery to all the injured.”
