Jaipur: A shocking incident has come to light from Jaipur, Odisha. The bodies of a transgender priest and a mason were recovered near a temple in Jaipur on Wednesday. Both bodies were found hanging from a tree, police said.
Police make shocking revelation
The incident occurred near the Kanak Durga Temple in Gopabandhu Nagar, under the Jaipur City police station area. Police say the two people whose bodies were recovered were likely in a love relationship. The deceased have been identified. The transgender woman has been identified as Raju Machchh, a priest at the temple, and the mason has been identified as Samara.
Police say Raju and Samara were allegedly in a relationship for the past few months. They were seen together near the temple on Tuesday evening, after which their bodies were recovered.
Police Officer’s Statement
Jaipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Parth Kashyap said, “Two cases of unnatural death have been registered and a detailed investigation has been initiated. A team examined the scene and prima facie evidence suggests it is a case of suicide. However, all possible angles are being investigated to ascertain the exact cause.”
