On the first day of Bhav-Di Expressions Summit 2025, The Art of Living started ‘Sita Charitam’, there was a confluence of 30 dances, music and art forms by 500 artists

Bengaluru: On the first day of India’s largest arts and cultural summit, Bhaav-The Expressions Summit 2025, The Art of Living introduced ‘Sita Charitam’, India’s largest live performing arts event, which saw 500 artists perform across 30 dance, music and art forms. The event aims to showcase the Indian cultural heritage to the world. The event will be held in 180 countries and will feature songs and dialogues in local languages ​​in over 20 editions.

An amazing display of India’s rich cultural diversity
Bhaav 2025 saw an amazing display of the richness of Indian art, with Bharatnatyam, an Indian classical dance form performed by 10 transgender artists from West Bengal, mesmerizing the audience. Also, a group of ex-prisoners performing to the tunes of the ‘Out of Box’ music band of ‘Art of Living’ added a lot of colour to the event.

Global humanitarian and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar expressed his views on the significance of the festival, saying, “If even one culture, religion or civilization vanishes, the world will become poorer. Every culture is part of the world heritage and we must preserve it.” Indian Minister of Tourism and Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also acknowledged the diverse forms of art and called the occasion a cultural Kumbh.

Performance of music, dance and various forms of art
Bhava 2025 began as an emotional experience, with a soulful Bharatnatyam performance by Kavya Muralidharan and her troupe touching the hearts of the audience. Three generations came together on stage and gave a wonderful performance of Kathak, led by Kathak Samrat Manisha Sathe. The rendition of Ram Bhajans and live music by a troupe of 30 artists moved the audience. The rendition of Garba songs also made the audience dance.

‘Art transcends all boundaries of caste, religion and gender’, expressed Sushant Divikar at the end of the inaugural ceremony. More than 600 delegates came together at the festival to be a part of this huge community of art. This feeling of unity can only be possible through spirituality, and Bhaav provides artists with the space to explore aspects of this life.

Kala Puraskar 2025: Honouring the protectors of Indian culture

During this, Kala Puraskar 2025 was also organized, in which renowned artists were honored for their lifetime contribution to Indian art. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar presented the award. Among the honored artists were 94-year-old veena player R. Visweswaran, veteran mridangam scholar A. Anand, Yakshagana hero Bannage Survan and Garba artist Atul Purohit.

A celebration of art legends and traditions
The festival was inaugurated with the lighting of lamps amid chanting of shlokas. Eminent artists like Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Padmashri Manjamma Jogathi, Padmashri Omprakash Sharma, Padmashri Uma Maheshwari, and music emperor Chitraveena N. Ravikiran were present on the occasion.

More expansion in the next editions
Bhav 2025 will be organized in 180 countries in the future, in which Indian art and culture will be promoted. Its aim is not only to provide a platform to art lovers, but also to take the cultural heritage to the new generation
