Operation Shield Mock drill: Under Operation Shield, mock drills were conducted in 5 states and one union territory bordering Pakistan today. During this, war sirens were sounded and a blackout was done. This mock drill took place in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Chandigarh. NDRF, SDRF, Fire Brigade, Police, Railway Police, Health Department played an active role during the mock drill. The purpose of the mock drill was to check the preparedness to deal with emergencies in the states of the border area. Also, people were taught ways to face air attacks from enemy planes, drones, missiles.

Mock drill in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor
Jammu and Kashmir: Akhnoor SDM Mukhtar Ahmad said, “A mock drill has been conducted here. There was a lot of shelling on the border after Operation Sindoor. We are raising awareness about it. People should be prepared if any such incident happens.”
Mock drill in Jhunjhunu Police Line
A mock drill was conducted under “Operation Shield” in the Police Line on Saturday evening to test the preparedness to deal with emergency situations in Jhunjhunu district. During the mock drill, the district administration and police immediately swung into action as soon as the information of air strike was received. QRT team, scouts, health workers, and all the officers associated with emergency services were actively involved in this mock drill. During the mock drill, the injured were taken to the temporary hospital built in JP Janu School. After this, the injured were sent to the BDK Hospital of the district.
Mock drill in Ajmer
A civil security mock drill was conducted under Operation Shield in Ajmer district. On receiving the information of airstrike along with the siren sounding at 5:00 pm, the NDRF and SDRF team reached the model location and took stock of the spot and practiced admitting the injured to a temporary medical center built in Ajmer. All departments are called in the mock drill and it is seen that everyone reaches on time. A blackout will also be done tonight.
Bhuj: Mock drill at Military Station and Smritivan
Civil Defence mock drill is being conducted in Bhuj of Kutch district under ‘Operation Shield’. There will be a blackout in the entire Kutch from 8.00 to 8.30 pm. Meanwhile, a mock drill was conducted to evacuate people safely after the drone attack inside the Bhuj Army Station. People caught in the fire were evacuated safely from two buildings. The district administration has requested the citizens to cooperate in the blackout.
