Pakistan confirmed the attack
A spokesperson of the Pakistani armed forces said in an interview to the BBC that the Indian Air Force has targeted Bahawalpur and Muridke. India has clearly stated that its action has been focused, measured and of a non-escalatory nature. India’s action comes two weeks after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people were killed. The Defense Ministry said in a statement issued at 1.44 pm, “A short while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, attacking the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed.
