Karachi: One person was killed and eight others injured when a bus hit a roadside bomb in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Sunday. Khuzdar District Commissioner Yasir Iqbal Dashti told the media that the bus coming from Rawalpindi to Khuzdar was hit by an explosion on the highway about 25 km from the city. Dashti said at least one person was killed and eight injured in the blast.
He said all the injured were immediately rushed to the Khuzdar Trauma Center. He said, “Initial investigation suggests that an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in an Alto car parked on the road and when the passenger bus came close, the explosive was blasted.” No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast. However, the banned separatist Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for carrying out most of the terror attacks in recent months. The BLA also claimed responsibility for the recent terror attack on a passenger bus in Turbat in which four people were killed and 32 injured.
