Balochistan: Attackers stopped a moving bus in Pakistan and kidnapped 9 passengers and later killed them. This painful incident took place in Zhob region of Balochistan. According to Pakistan’s Geo TV, this is a horrific terrorist incident in Balochistan, where a passenger bus going from Kaleta to Lahore was stopped by armed attackers on the N‑40 route. After this, the gunmen checked the identity cards of the passengers on the bus and selected and kidnapped nine male passengers belonging to Punjab province. Later they were killed.

Bodies found 1 hour after kidnapping
Most of the passengers who were kidnapped have been identified as residents of Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala and Wazirabad. Within one to one and a half hours of being kidnapped, their bodies were found in a nearby hilly area under a bridge. All were shot dead from very close range. According to local Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Musakhel, the number of attackers was around 10 to 12. They also attacked the security forces with rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and automatic weapons and then fled. The security forces chased them, but the attackers are still absconding.

Pakistan government condemns the incident
The Pakistan government and the Balochistan administration have termed it a well-planned terrorist attack and strongly condemned it. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and promised to catch the culprits soon and give them severe punishment. It is worth noting that the government had already banned the movement of passengers at night on the N‑70 route and implemented standard operating procedures (SOPs) for security. Despite this, such a big lapse is raising serious questions on the security system.
