Lahore: Policemen were attacked with rockets in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Thursday, in which at least 11 soldiers were killed and many were injured. This information has been given by the police. In Rahim Yar Khan district, about 400 km from Lahore, many policemen were also taken hostage when two police vans got stuck in the mud at Macha Point. A Punjab Police spokesperson said, “Meanwhile, the dacoits reached there and attacked them with rockets. At least 11 policemen were killed on the spot in the attack, while some of them were taken hostage and the rest were injured.” He said that the death toll may increase, as the condition of some of the injured is critical.
CM Maryam Nawaz showed a tough stand
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has shown a tough stand regarding the attack on policemen. CM Maryam has ordered IG Police Dr. Usman Anwar to launch a campaign to free the hostage policemen. He said that such incidents will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, it should also be mentioned here that recently terrorists from Afghanistan had carried out a major attack on a border security post in Pakistan’s troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Three Pakistani security personnel were killed in this attack. Earlier, two policemen including a station in-charge were killed in a terrorist attack on a police station in north-west Pakistan. Heavily armed terrorists attacked the Bargai police station in the terrorism-affected Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Before the attack, the terrorists were hiding in a house located near the police station.
