Pakistan is going to host a major ICC tournament next month, ICC released the schedule of Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifier today, the tournament will be played at two grounds in Lahore.

The Champions Trophy 2025 was held in Pakistan and now next month this country is going to host another big ICC tournament. The ICC has announced the schedule of the Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifier. According to this schedule released on March 14, this tournament will be played at two grounds in Lahore. The first match will be played on 9 April and the final will be played on 19 April. 6 teams will participate in this tournament, out of which two teams will have to qualify for the main event to be held in India in October-November. Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and hosts India have already qualified for the World Cup by making it to the top 6 in the ICC Women’s Championship (2022-25).

Who will play the qualifier?

In the Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifier, four full member countries Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies will compete with associate countries Scotland and Thailand. This tournament will be of 15 matches. Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies have reached the qualifier due to being ranked seventh to tenth in the ICC Women’s Championship. At the same time, Thailand and Scotland have made it to the tournament by securing the next two best positions in the ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings as of 28 October 2024.

  • April 9: Pakistan vs Ireland Gaddafi Stadium (D) and West Indies vs Scotland LCCA (D)
  • April 10: Thailand vs Bangladesh LCCA (D)
  • April 11: Pakistan vs Scotland LCCA (D) and Ireland vs West Indies Gaddafi Stadium (D)
  • April 13: Scotland vs Thailand LCCA (D) and Bangladesh vs Ireland Gaddafi Stadium (D/N)
  • April 14: Pakistan vs West Indies Gaddafi Stadium (D/N)
  • April 15: Thailand vs Ireland LCCA (D) and Scotland vs Bangladesh Gaddafi Stadium (D/N)
  • April 17: Bangladesh vs West Indies LCCA (D) and Pakistan vs Thailand Gaddafi Stadium (D/N)
